Not sure how many people on here are doing audio stuff with Unreal, but I've updated my Unreal Audio Components diagram to include Sound Concurrency assets.

(if you download it the pdf has clickable links for every component)

Myself and Susie Buchan created an unsettling corporate wellness-themed workshop/performance(?) that was one of my favourite things I did last year.

Ran a making it up as we go along* workshop at Now Play This a couple weeks back, and as I usually do, created a new zine to accompany it. That zine's now up on itch, along with a short explanation of what's new: https://niall-moody.itch.io/making-it-up-as-we-go-along/devlog/930183/new-zine-for-now-play-this

New zine for Now Play This - making it up as we go along by Niall Moody

Recently I took making it up as we go along to Now Play This (sadly, the final iteration of the festival), and as usual I created a new zine to go with it, now uploaded to itch. You can find it at the...

Finally, on the evening of Monday 4th November, I'm going to be giving an interactive talk titled 'A Yet-Unforeclosed Possibility of Freedom and Joy'.

I'm going to talk about old game dev subcultures and argue for the necessity of spaces that do not revolve around 'hard work', 'success', or your ability to produce on demand. And as part of it, we're going to make a game together in Klik & Play.

On the afternoon of Saturday 2nd November we'll be running an Arcadia Playful Design workshop.

This will be a chill, drop-in-style workshop: I'll be running my game 'making it up as we go along', James Morwood will be running a choose-your-own-adventure zine-makng workshop, and Claire Morwood will be running a collaborative bitsy workshop.

We've run this workshop once before for Dundee Design Week (see here: https://www.niallmoody.com/work/arcadia-playful-design-workshop/)

From Robert Chapman's Empire of Normality:

For anyone doing Unreal audio stuff I've made a small update to my Audio Components diagram on github, swapping out the old Audio Volumes for the new Audio Gameplay Volume system, and updating all the links to point to Epic's new developer hub:

If you buy the album you also get access to the original Reaper project files and stems, plus the custom granulator plugin I made that gets used in a lot of the tracks.

Here's an example of the granulator in use:

A fun walk today, with the sun briefly burning off the haar before it returned with a vengeance.
