Moving over to a new account, I'm going to be locking this one in abandoning it, the app that I have this account on seems to not allow me to migrate it even though I have it all set up to do so, without access to the password for this current account I'm not able to otherwise do it in another app.

Sorry to keep sounding so helpless with this app, but I've been trying to email and sent several requests to reset my password, but have yet to get any response or reset email.

Anyone have any experience getting through to anyone with a password reset? I need to get a new phone soon because this one is no longer receiving updates, and I'll lose access to this account once that happens.

So I've unpaired the cross posting from Twitter to Mastodon as of now, but I still cannot figure out how to get a new username/account going on a new instance so I can and get everyone migrated over.

Probably worth mentioning I'm using the Tusky app because it displays things very similar to Twitter so I'm used to using it, but every time I try to log into a new instance it says it fails.

I have no idea how any of this works and it's getting frustrating. 😐

Is there a way to change the username and what instance I'm using on here, or do I need to start over?

Also is there an instance with a large furry presence that people are migrating over to, or are instances just kind of like for friend groups?

Trying to really understand Mastodon best I can and maybe fully ditching bird site.

Explain this all to me like I'm five years old. 🤓
