It's like the #TwitterMigration and the #RedditMigration decided to have a race on the same day to see who can outdo the other today.

Well, looks like Reddit pulled the plug a little early. Apollo started crashing, but I just manually revoked my token and it looks like it fixes the crashing, but no more Reddit access haha. Those folks are fun to the very end! 😛

Reddit, owned by media giant Advance, is outright going to war against moderators who refuse to kowtow to the company's misguided destruction of 3rd-party apps. https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/28/23777195/reddit-protesting-moderators-communities-subreddits-private-reopen

Inertia is the company's most potent weapon. Let's hope the moderators will lead their communities to places where the unpaid volunteers, not an arrogant company that believes it owns them, are in charge.

Reddit is telling protesting mods their communities ‘will not’ stay private

Reddit is sending strongly-worded messages to moderators of some protesting subreddits that indicate the company may take actions to remove moderators or reopen communities.

I wanted to take a minute to debunk Reddit's claims, and talk about their unwillingness to work with developers, moderators, and the larger community, as well as say thank you for all the support 💙 https://reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/14dkqrw/i_want_to_debunk_reddits_claims_and_talk_about/

I wanted to address Reddit's continued, provably false statements, as well as answer some questions from the community, and also just say...

Well, at least Reddit has admitted their "we're not trying to be like Twitter/Elon" stuff was false
Twitter learned, and Reddit is fast learning, that people are not addicted to the platform, they’re addicted to the community they found there. Ruin the community, and people will leave the platform. It really is that simple.
