I struggled with yesterday's drawing and tried a few options. Here's another one I liked. I actually wanted a second character in both but I couldn't get the poses to fit together in the sketches.

Happy new year! Late again as is traditional. I did the sketch on the first, at least!

Unfinished, but maybe it's better like this.

I'm biased, of course, but I'd say it's an amazing body of work and it'd be a shame if people didn't get to see it!
He made a lot of sculptures back in the 70s, including some really interesting electromechanical ones. The sculptures were mostly given away over the decades, but I found some big photo albums which document everything he made. I'll have to post some of those here when I have them.
He died a bit over a year ago. There's a joy in going back through his things and discovering drawings which I've never seen before as well as ones which I remember clearly from my childhood, but it also makes me very sad. I wish I had been able to talk to him more about his art.
I need to go back to my parents' flat next week to collect some of his things, including the rest of his works, and take them back to my place. There's a lot of them! I'd like to scan or photograph everything and update the website with a bigger selection.

A few years ago, I made a website to showcase some of my dad's drawings. Take a look: kickingcurlycurly.com

I made the sprites extra large so that you don't see them get cut off as you move them up the screen! #gamedev
Although on reflection, I think it's probably poor use of my time at this point in the project and I should do a really simple version for starters. For example, literally just dump all the materials on the desk and call it the artwork.
