I Am Stan. He/Him. Hello. I Love You.
Fix Your Heart Or Die
Daily reminder to never ever ever EVER NEVER treat conservatives and fascists seriously or fairly
If you ever find yourself accidentally engaging honestly, please remember this fundamental truth:
-Every Conservative would have you and everyone you love killed and tortured out of hand
-The only reason it is *not* socially acceptable to shoot them out of hand is because Liberal Democracy loves fascists and loves mass murder and will protect them until the bitter bitter end
Internalize this.
The more renowned you gain, the more you can customize and kit out your soldier.
But remember:
If you die, you die. And so what if Jimmy "Dead Eye" Williams used a Italian sniper rifle and wore a leather cape, you are now just some Private in the US Army.
You have no name, when you die its like Dark Souls, everything you are carrying dies with you and you spawn back behind the line as some other Jemoke told to charge forward where you can find your body and pick up your shit.
Here is the other side of the coin:
Do well, achieve objectives, go on killing sprees, blow up vehicles and shit, you will gain renown, and when you cross a threshold you get a name.
It will be like an MLB game where you have a list of first and last names to pick from.
You press start and you are a GI in a Higgens boat headed directly for the French Coast, shells and machine gun fire falling all around you, the coxswain yells at you, the ramp lowers and you charge forward to see...the *South* coast of France, the words "Operation Dragoon: August 15th, 1944" pop up.
You are just some GI in the 3rd ID and you fight your way through light resistance up the beach to capture bunch of objectives doing typical shooter stuff.
Here is the rub though, the uniqueness:
So i want to pitch a game, let's call its working title: "Nameless".
It is a shooter, it plays just like Battlefield (If Star Wars can do it, Stan here can do it)
We are going to combine elements of popular games:
-Big Team Shooters(Especially Battlefield 2: *Modern Combat* on PS2)
-Extraction Shooters
-Hero Shooters
The campaign will be the tutorial and the like 15 minute pitch of the game.(you can imagine the scenario in whatever time frame/style/setting/whatever. I choose World War II):
Call of Duty was the first I remember really addressing that. Everyone had the same face, but they went through the trouble of giving everyone a different name. PFC Jackson would fight with you, but there *was* only one of them.
Hero shooters took this to the logical conclusion, Siege makes sense. I believe that a guy named Rook, a spy named Mute, and a Giant Russian Guy With A Giant Machine Gun named Ivan would be a spec ops team
But now we have reverted:
Everyone has the same face and name
I had an observation this morning playing BF6.
In BF6, they have given all the soldiers specific names and bios that are class locked, they can *only* be recon soldiers)
And I find it very odd and immersion breaking whenever I come across another "Hawk", or when I see a pair of the same guy in the battle.
And that is literally just a function of giving them names. Like playing old games, coming across a dozen GIs with the same face never did that, they were all just that: Random Infantry
