Basically a person hears a word/phrase wrong, and works backwards to create something *almost* the same, such as mishearing "acorn" as "eggcorn" and rationalizing it as they're vaguely egg shaped.
I've just recently noticed how often I'm hearing people say "bagpack" instead of "backpack" and once you start noticing it, it's like it suddenly appears everywhere.
Anyone else notice the grade level of the writing for media outlets is dropping lately?
The one thing that keeps popping out the most is long standing titles are getting simplified. For example the "Department of Justice" has recently become the "Justice Department" in headlines I keep seeing, completely ignoring the DOJ acronym.
Same thing for anything else with the "Department of" prefix.
Haven't flown in ages so I decided to knock the rust off in LiftOff: Micro Drones before bouncing one of my whoops around the house.
It's amazing how bad you can get if you don't stay on top of it, but it's also amazing how fast it comes back.

Watching ESPN 8 (yes, it's a real thing) for background noise, and there's an international foosball tournament on air.
I'm fascinated by how genuinely serious everyone is about it. Even the announcer claimed that "foosball is often called rolling chess" which is a claim that exceeds credibility.
I guess the takeaway is that I'm watching people with more gravitas towards the game everyone got bored of at the University Center than most people I know have about anything. I don't get it, yet I can't help but admire the passion around it.
