I understand that the museum is particularly interested in sharing information on vaginas and the related anatomy moreso since less has been researched and shared historically than with penises, so I think the comment was more in the vein of evening the field a little. However I wanted to share that as a trans man I also share your sentiment and experience with being interested in the comparitive aspects of genitalia. I've also slowly developed a better relationship with my junk through the more informed understanding of the ways in which the structures are the same, and would like to see the knowledge more widely explored and known!
