🕊️ “Liberty is meaningless if it is only the liberty to agree with those in power.” — Ludwig von Mises
Mises exposed the impossibility of economic calculation under socialism and championed individual freedom against state control. His Human Action reshaped economics as a science of purposeful human behavior, not central planning.
His insights remain vital today, as new forms of collectivism rise in modern disguises.

Ludwig von Mises 1881-1973
Mises's An Economic and Sociological Analysis probably contains the most complete arsenal of arguments ever advanced against socialism.
ECAEFMises argued that the demand for money, or how much people want to hold, depends not just on the money supply but on individuals' subjective views of the economy. Buyers, sellers, & investors choose to hold or spend money based on personal expectations & needs. He therefore rejected the idea of money's neutrality, the claim that more money only raises prices proportionally. He argued that changes in the money supply affect interest rates, investment, & production, shaping real economic outcomes.
