The dip in fertility rate isn’t some mysterious process we don’t understand. It’s a direct reflection of our own desire to reproduce against government interdiction in those desires. I.E. the less acceptable the government makes life, the more people will resist by not reproducing. This ‘smells’ of an evolutionary tactic to collapse failing tribes or communities rather than let them go completely extinct.
