This take by
@eightbitsamurai (which I got permission to screenshot and repost) is extremely important to keep in mind. What happened to Notre Dame was a tradgedy, but that and more has happened to structures built by indigenous people, often at the hands of European oppressors. Think about how much history has been lost that way. Really think about it. There are plenty of still-standing incredible European structures. How many truly great indigenous structures are left? And not just that, how much of their history and culture has been destroyed?
And yes, you can care about two things at once. So long as you *actually care* about both things.
