Alright, this Friday I will be doing some instance maintenance. The.main thing will be installing the Mutant Standard Emoji on the server, and updating our block list.

Speaking of which....I'm considering switching nutt.church from blocked to silenced. Basically, they won't show up in the federated TL, but if you follow an account on there it will still show up on your TL. Considering also silencing mastodon.social.

Let me know about either of these decisions, whether you strongly object or have other instances to recommend blocking.

I'm reposting because on further refelection I *wasn't* overcompensating out of guilt. This is a legitimate problem.

I keep forgetting to expense our server costs, which ultimately is fine by me if the sbc co-op uses the funds for something else good. I have a job and a place to live, I'm fine financially for now. But now I'm also thinking it might be a blessing in disguise to have forgotten.

multiple people I know have now quit the co-op, for various reasons, and if you're one of them I'd like to discuss with you why you did so. I'm starting to think that maybe having the co-operative manage this instance may not be the best thing, and that becoming independent might be a good choice of action to take.

Not that we would defederate from sunbeam.city, but we'd make our own decisions about who to federate with, and other such things.
