I live next to I5 in Seattle in the Japantown part of the International District. I am lucky for several reasons: 1. the freeway is actually lower than the hill we live on; 2. The four-ton, 200-year-old Yukimidoro stone lantern on the hilltop gifted from Kobe, Japan in the park next door; 3. Even on the 7th floor we get visitors. He’s now curled in a ball sleeping while it rains.
