@andymckay @gvwilson stockfish already uses a neural network, and there's no way that they'd be training chess AIs on randos because Alpha Zero and Leela Zero have shown you can do way better in training a chess neural network vs itself than vs actual players. I think this person is just jumping to it being AI because everything seems to be AI these days, it's the hottest marketing buzzword, but the chance these opponents are actually AIs being trained is near zero.
