Vancouver, rad dad, husband, son, brother, and human.
#T1D pumping with #AAPS, learning to #DIYLOOP.
I sing, play guitar, bass, and drums for fun.
I've worked many jobs from radio and online news, to manual labour, and bus operator.
Let's preserve the planet 'cause there's no place like home.
@Gargron
This is good to hear. Thank you.
There were two notable moderation incidents on mastodon.social and mastodon.online in the past 24 hours that I would like to address. In the first, a post was wrongfully removed due to a report claiming it contained a dogwhistle, and in the second, a person was wrongfully suspended due to a report claiming it's an impersonator. Both were undone and apologies issued.

Going into the 72nd hour with my omnipod dash tonight. It should beep into the final 8 hours sometime around 4:30a.m. Fingers crossed I can get back to sleep!

Do any other dash users aim tl use up that 8hr grace window to get a "free" day every three pods?

It feels like twitter is a psy-op cesspit. Hopefully mastodon remains cool: with increasing popularity comes greater interest from nation states and other bad actors in making this place less fun.

I actually joined the Vancouver one very briefly, but they're using a different UX, and while it's supposed to be more feature-rich, being 10 minutes into my mastodon journey it was a little steep for me at that moment. So, I deleted my account there and have stayed put for the time being.

I share the sense @trendless is cool, and while I support covid elimination, I'm not sure I want to join a server that is geared toward all covid, all the time. Twitter already made the assumption that's all I wanted to discuss.
Sadly, I also think as a brand, zero covid has been intentionally mischaracterised to be about militaristism, endless isolation, and covid jails. While that's clearly not true, I'd rather not be associated with it. It makes arguing for elimination easier.

@gabrielbauman

Looks like it! I might be pinging you for more tips into initial deployment if I go that route. Turn off your ringer. Haha.

@cardamomaddict
That's basically the only big Canadian one I know of, aside from certain niche-focused servers.

Another win for the Democrats and voting rights 🎉

What happened was this: In 2021, Georgia Republicans passed a law shortening the early voting period. Only one Saturday remained for early voting in the runoffs.

Secretary of State Raffensperger said early voting can't be held that day because state law says it is illegal on a Saturday if there is a holiday on the Thursday or Friday preceding it.

Hmm, just realized the instance I joined is €1.5 a month after the first month. Not that it isn't a fine instance (mastodon.green) or that I'm trying to freeload, but perhaps I should use this as an opportunity to move to an instance that is more closely suited to my location (Canada) or interests outside environment?

Any input on where to go? I'm not necessarily opposed to paying a part of the freight, either, just curious if there is a more suited inst. for that kind of dough.
