I think it's great that the mods still hold some degree of power over so much important data. Leaving everything that a large community has created in the hands of one asshole CEO is a shitty reality of modern times.

I'm using a Behringer UMC22, and the amp is a 50W solid state amp from a brand called "Meteoro" (I don't know if it exists outside of Brazil lol).

Being poor sucks =(

Noob question: plugging audio interface to guitar amp instead of monitors - Lemmy.world

Hi! I just bought an audio interface to record some metal guitars, but I’m struggling a bit with latency (I have a very old computer). My interface has a direct monitoring output, which would solve my latency problems. However, it only sends the DI signal without any effects, so I thought of using the chain below to be able to hear the guitar with distortion: guitar > interface > direct monitor output > amp That way, I could record the DI track to my DAW while monitoring through the amp, using the distortion from the amp itself and not the FX from the DAW (to avoid latency). I don’t want to use my amp’s line out to feed the interface because my amp is a cheap solid state that sounds bad. I just want to use it as a studio monitor to hear what I’m playing, and I will use amp sims on the DI track. The question is: could that output from the direct monitor damage the amp (I would set the volume output very low, just to be able to hear it)? Thanks!
