I wrote a review of Hanna Gadsby's Nanette. In the spirit of the original piece, it started as a review and morphed into an examination of humor and rape culture and my personal history with both.

CW: Reference to rape culture and it's themes including childhood sexual assault although no specifics, just acknowledgement that it exists.

@Meshelly @jamiegray Likely the former. Plantains can be difficult to master. A lot of people accidentally dry them out.
@Meshelly @jamiegray Yeah... that's not ideal.
@Meshelly @jamiegray The only way you can know if you like plantains is to eat them at a good Cuban restaurant. If they're still bad, you might just dislike plantains.

@Meshelly @jamiegray Are you at a Cuban restaurant? Question two: are there any Cubans there?
@Meshelly @jamiegray You must have got a bad one. Ideally it's like a banana made sweet sweet love to a delicious french fry.

The sun is out in Portland and people are loosing their God damned minds.

I almost jumped the counter at the post office today and no regrets.
