Thinking about my Irish 3xGreat grandmother who left Ireland at the height of the famine, married a Scotsman twice her age, pregnant by 17, widowed with 7 kids by 32 and murdered at 36.
Her suffering was not unique then, nor is it now.

The claim that Erich von Däniken was killed for getting too close to the truth at 90 years old and almost 60 years after “Chariots of the Gods?” is demonstrably false enough that it’s probably the tribute he would have wanted.
I used to think that the accusations against Gilles de Rais (1404-1440) were too far fetched to be real but with every passing day of these damn files, man….
