#RFMOs are often criticized for not being effective enough, but progress is seldom reported. So in this spirit I want to share that @iccat adopted last week a novel management procedure for bluefin tuna (a major change), and new measures for shortfin mako shark https://bit.ly/3GXu1wA, while @UN_FAO_GFCM three weeks ago adopted 17 binding recommendations to improve Mediterranean and Black Sea sustainability. #oceanoptimism #sustainability
