Head's up, Mastodon users: There appears to be a coordinated effort to impersonate relatively high-profile people who have accounts on various instances but who have not used them in a while.
I've gotten several follow notifications - and a couple of DMs - from impersonators of people I know. The bogus accounts have lots of underscores in the handles, and they repost items from the past, sometimes years old. If you spot this, please report, do not engage, and then block.

And yet, go convince people! I buy either refurbished or fairphone with great satisfaction regarding the products i got. Yet, can’t convince the members of my family to move away from tech giants, child labor fueled, war perpetuators, corruption enablers, planet destructors devices.
And this migration that put populists in power is fueled by this exact consumer behavior that put people on the road.

🚨 New report: Big Meat and Dairy are roasting the planet 🥩🌡️
A new investigation by Greenpeace Nordic, Foodrise, Friends of the Earth US and the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy exposes the colossal climate footprint of the world’s meat and dairy giants.
Their emissions now rival Big Oil.

Five meat companies – JBS, Marfrig, Tyson, Minerva and Cargill – combined emit more greenhouse gases than Chevron, Shell or BP.
Around 80% of these emissions come from cattle.
While science calls for reducing livestock emissions, Big Meat and Dairy are expanding fast.
The world’s biggest meat empire, JBS, plans to grow 70% by 2050 while walking back its climate commitments.
