@kevinhearne I’ve been re-reading (listening to) the Iron Druid Chronicles (finishing up Tricked now). I just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed this second round. It’s been such a joy to explore the growth and development of Atticus, Oberon, and Granuaile. I love how I can see hints of their future for the characters. Thanks for sharing you thoughts, dreams, ideas, and humor.

@willrbishop unless you want specific features, the tech is so mature that I doubt the components are that different. I like inexpensive ones that have battery backup. I think I’ve bought 2 basic clocks in the last 30 years.
I do like the kind that shine the time on the ceiling. I got one of those and it has done well. I had to retire it for different reasons. But it worked and never broke.

Sorry to hear of the passing of U.S. District Court Judge Ronald S.W. Lew. I had the privilege of externing for him back in ‘92. A fine man. He was also responsible for a memorable experience I’ve written about.
Jordan Neely’s homicide reminded be of this 2012 post so I fished it out of the Internet Archive. It grieves me how much the discussion of how we justify brutality still applies.
