Not often on 10m for #SSTV, but worked some US stations this morning. Conditions improving all the time.

EAPSK63 contest finished, and slightly exhausted from multi-tasking. Decided to run two bands for the last 15 mins (20m and 10m) which was interesting to do, but a lot of concentration needed for a low rate, would be completely lost with anything higher ! Running one band, S+P on another was a good rate improver as was Run and S+P the same band.

Happy that SO2V is working properly, just need a few adjustments here and there, and more reading of the N1MM+ docs !

Contest Result ;

8th in SOAB100 Class, so fairly happy with that. My UBN errors were only 1.31%.

CQ WPX RTTY 2024 completed, and managed 29 hours of the 30 allowed for Single Op.

Mostly S+P, just couldn't get a good run going or without another station standing right on top for most of the contest. Some good DX from all over the US, Nepal and Japan.

BARTG Sprint completed, 18:11 of 24:00hrs done and a fairly good QSO count for 85w and a wire antenna. Some interesting mults inc Australia, Iceland and Nepal.

Station worked well again, with the three RTTY decoders really pulling out the signals.

Busy on 20m SSTV this morning for EU stations. Quick QSO with 2M0TNM, Pix RX from PA11246 SWL.

QSL delivery today was a welcome surprise, with a lot of JA cards.

I still enjoy receiving and sending paper QSL's, even though I am also a LoTW user. I see them as two different things, one purely a transaction for awards and one for the exchange of greetings, thanks for the QSO and to share something from our mutual hobby. Reading some cards reminds me of the actual QSO, like the card from 9A1CCY for a CW QSO I made back in March when I'd just finished my Morse sessions with CW-Ops.

About 4 years ago, I bought an old Jubilee Tube train door open button from TFL, along with a tube tunnel telephone for my telephone collection.

Finally did something with it and built a Ikea Tradfri Shortcut button holder to use it as a light switch. I couldn't slim down the button enough so it would fit in the original rear housing, but it works really well ! Now need to mount it on the wall.

Some QSO rate comparison with 2022 vs 2023 with Athena across my N1MM+ dataset for the CQ WW contest.

Better Saturday conditions helped increase the numbers, and also a stronger final afternoon.

48 hours later, 832 QSO's and a really enjoyable contest. Plenty of activity, especially on Saturday. Harder work today being in the LP section to be heard, decided to go S+P all contest for the same reason.
