I do something similar to this. Whenever I sleep in a new place I always make sure to mentally go over the layout of the place I’m in before I go to sleep. I used to sleep walk (im on meds now), and twice as a kid I slept walked to the wrong location for the bathroom. Once my dad caught me and was able to turn me around to the right room, the second time not so lucky.
SAME! Like I was born in one place moved when I was two, moved somewhere else till I was 6, moved to another state and then 3 different houses before college in that state… then, then, then.

This is for people who have moved away from their home town or have lived in multiple locations long term. Do you ever forget where you are?

It’s a somewhat common experience to zone out while driving and not remember how you got from points A to B. However, is it just as common to “wake up” from being zoned out between points A and B and momentarily forget that you’re in New(ish) Location and not lost in your Old Location (hometown). Or say someone asks you for directions someplace and you give them directions how to get there based on a different location you lived? I’ve been living in the Midwest US for 12 years now and still occasionally give directions or think I’m still on the East Coast.

Uzbetistan

I was first called a dyke then bull dyke in elementary school. I had no idea what it meant and the boy who was calling me that was hitting my head from his seat on the bus behind me. So I grabbed his backpack and and flipped him over the seat.

All the gay slurs were the most common to use against me. Though I did get called a n- lover a few times as well.

When I was younger I fought back physically and/ or verbally. As I got older I would just question the person on why what they were calling me was a bad thing.

Though I do think my favorite come back for any of the gay slurs when thrown by afab people would be saying: “yeah and trust me, it will never be an issue for you.” While giving them the up and down with a disgusted expression. Seeing the confusion then anger then confusion go across their faces was always amazing. They couldn’t argue with it other wise they would be saying they wanted to be seen as attractive by someone of the same sex.

It would be considered rape if the person accused was a poor, non connected person with no promising future.

Love that * stop using subtext*!

Subtext hits differently day to day. Like what might seem coy or domineering (in a good way), may seem obtuse or bullying the next. Many people with ADHD struggle with Rejection Sensitivity Disorder (RSD) and if it’s particularly nasty one day it can negativity color all interactions.

So what can also be helpful are reassurances to both top and bottom. “Yes, I love you and your authority, I’m just being a brat.” Or “No, you aren’t annoying me and I’m not actually upset/ disappointed, I’m just emphasizing my authority.”

Power exchange for success - Lemmy.World

What’s your experience with a power exchange or D/s dynamic where the main purpose is for keeping on track of your goals? Obviously there are a ton of different ways to have an accountability buddy, but I would like to hear about people’s experience with it as a dynamic. I am personally somewhat interested, but my neurospicey has it so that whenever anyone tries to tell me what to do or to keep me on track I suddenly find the task absolutely loathsome. So when my partner (and Dom) and I tried to add this accountability (like them making sure I made doctor appointments, took time for writing, or other things) to our dynamic, I quickly found it too irritating. The idea of it however, still sounds interesting… but maybe just not with a romantic partner??? I would love to hear from those who are also neurospicy or are with someone who is and if they were able to find such a dynamic helpful/ enjoyable.

Not a line per se, but a scene. Watching The Haunting of Emily Rose in theaters and it’s supposed to be a serious scene and maybe even shocking or scary. The possessed main character jumps out of a barn loft or house window… I lost my shit, laughed so loud. The way the girl jumped out was just too funny looking.

When I’m overstimulated or migrainey my skin becomes sensitive to touch. So that when I am touched I have a burning sensation and oddly enough light touches are more painful than a normal touch. I often describe it as the same feeling from when I am running a fever that makes my skin burn and I get painful goosebumps all over. (The painful goosebumps happen with a migraine more than being overstimulated.)

Also I can’t stand repetitive touch, like when holding hands and the other person rubs their thumb back and forth over your hand. These repetitive motions quickly become painful and can often set off my whole body becoming too sensitive. Another weird touch thing is light touches on my back, this almost always causes my how body to start itching. It’s sooo annoying and something I have to constantly remind my partner about.
