Over here in the Buffalo area I don’t have to many issues from voles and woodchucks. The deer are different story. They are both voracious destroyers and unrepentant. They are altering the landscape in ways that discriminate against other species and ultimately will destroy their own habitat. They are my biggest challenge and they have far more time and energy to subvert my feeble contrivances to slow them down. A very worthy opponent. Every once in a while I manage to sneak one past them.
@whitepineswhisper do you later take any action to keep the deer from mowing the new growth back to the cutting?
@climatenews not a fan of these article confusing cause and effect. Meat is not a problem. CAFOs are a huge problem and for more than climate risk.
I love it. Everyone needs to eat even the slugs.

@JenLucPiquant what a welcome relief. Hope it catches on in a hurry.
@inkican the time to be careful is before this is released into the wild. Trees live in complex systems. To introduce something that no one has any idea how it will fit in is very risky. Remove humans and nature would get along without out us. Remove nature and we are toast. Let’s not assume we know better.
@gwagner that is interesting in an entertainment sort of way. The scary part is that Forbes provides financial advice. Wonder how accurate that works out to be?
@MiaLis79 the more I hear it the more I like it. Call me woke, your wokeness, the wokenator, ... whatever. I still don’t have to cover for my divisiveness and try to legislate away things that I might not be interested in. Let people be themselves even if it means I have to wear some title that is supposed to be derogatory. It can’t be derogatory if I wear it with indifference.
@rbreich who could make a problem out of joining your neighbor, your friend, your colleague to help balance out the power your employer has over you. Businesses join the chamber of commerce, local business organizations, local politicians to lobby for their interests. Why would anyone not want to join a group to lobby for their interests.
