It's been the longest, most horrifying 39 days of my life.
I usually just use a long tail cast on with 15 rows of ribbing before the body. Right now I'm trying out knitting the ribbing with a size 0 needle, with the body in size 1. It's fine...I've never been super thrilled with the stretch of the top ribbing and going down a needle size didn't make much of a difference.
