@EllenInEdmonton I just heard about some people who have used carrots instead of ginger in a ginger bug, and they say that the "carrot beer" is really wonderful.
@NorcalGma2 So '60's. So needed again.
Finally finished the peace sign on the back of my denim jacket.
Tomorrow at our family lunch the grandkids are going to draw one or two new designs to embroider.
Time to go back to towels and finish up the last two.
@xrobau @LifeTimeCooking Yeah, understand. I am over here on aus.social for the interim.
@sister_ratched My silly health journeys continue.....
@sister_ratched I didn't cook it with the dal, but added on top - more like a curry or spicy lentil stew now than a dal, with all the greens etc in it. Yuba has no taste of its own, so it just soaks up any flavours it is in. I left the sticks semi long, so they were succulent to eat. Delicious!

I've been watching some of Shockey's fermentation videos from her online Fermentation School. Current thinking is that 6 different fermented foods per day give excellent results. Of course, fermentistas would say that.

I've had 4 already today, I think. Fermented capsicum, fermented brine (added to the dal), fermented herbs, a shot of beetroot kvass.

I'll have some kimchi with dinner and add some lacto-fermented preserved lemon to the salad/dressing. Or maybe some miso soup.

I think it is in diversity rather than quantity, to get a huge variety of the beneficial microbey thingies.

I need to keep a focus on this for a while as i am on my fifth course of antibiotics in the past 6 months'ish. Current health challenge, an infected finger 😭

Another dip into this morning's dal. I have added greens and some rehydrated yuba sticks. Delicious!
@NunavutBirder Good to know she is better and you are all home. Too short tho! I guess she'll be back from her own family. You will miss her and the bub while they are away.
@weezmgk I like her. We are all a bit weird in our own way.
