Had an interesting conversation in one of my (many) interviews that's stuck with me.
As a senior engineer, I can help at most 2-3 other engineers to achieve their potential and push the whole project forward.
As an engineering manager, I could help 8-10 other engineers achieve their potential and push the whole organization forward.
This may seem obvious, but nobody has ever put it in those terms for me and it resonated.
It's got me rethinking future roles
