I have taken a metaphorical machete to my followers/following counts in anticipation of moving my account. If I did not recognize someone at a glance, their account was removed.
If you believe you have been removed from either of these in error, please DM me.
Well, that all escalated fucking quickly.
I harbor no ill will towards anyone on Snouts. Only disappointment, confusion, and frustration.
I will take the next few days to strip my followers/following counts of people I don't actively speak with, or whose accounts have gone unused for over a year.
On the 16th I will perform an archive export, and move to a new instance after making a followers-only post announcing where I will be moving to.
I am going to be very paranoid.
@kat incidentally, I'm glad I was checking my DMs when you posted that.
given the current global sociopolitical climate and the habits of people, the urge to agree with the surface-level premise of that meme complex is high when one is not aware of its brutally shitheaded depths.
as I have said before, you are one of the few non-juggalo clowns I am not automatically suspicious of.
@kat The alt-right thing is a meme complex called "clown world," and it was an attempt to mainstream a shitload of barely-coded racist language into internet cultures. The best summary of it is by Vaush, someone whom I do not find entertaining, and is available on Youtube. The video is over an hour long, but a few minutes ought to be enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cscP830j2KA
As you're a wet clown whomst pokeball, the odds of you being mistaken for That Sort Of Asshole are low to nil.
As for why I'm back before the seven days I mentioned earlier were up: I overheard someone mention Snouts was closing, and I had to check that rumor before reacting.
I did not anticipate it to have been an actual announcement.
We now return to your regularly scheduled radio silence.
"The Alt-Right Playbook: The Ship of Theseus" by Innuendo Studios.
I phrased it the way I did in the CW because it's not just the alt-right that does this, and I share it because knowing how it works gives you a better chance of avoiding falling for it.
