Well, that all escalated fucking quickly.
I harbor no ill will towards anyone on Snouts. Only disappointment, confusion, and frustration.
I will take the next few days to strip my followers/following counts of people I don't actively speak with, or whose accounts have gone unused for over a year.
On the 16th I will perform an archive export, and move to a new instance after making a followers-only post announcing where I will be moving to.
I am going to be very paranoid.
As for why I'm back before the seven days I mentioned earlier were up: I overheard someone mention Snouts was closing, and I had to check that rumor before reacting.
I did not anticipate it to have been an actual announcement.

The short explanation for this is: I do not trust my own judgement when it comes to who I have followed in the past, and decided it was better to perform machetecine (machete medicine) than to risk data leakage through federated friend-of-a-friend connections.
I am transgender, nonbinary, disabled, and neurodivergent. Many of my followers are as well. There are those on the internet who would seek to harm all of us via coordinated harassment. This is why I have taken such severe measures.
