Our kids are not in constant danger from creeps, kidnapping, germs, grades, flashers, frustration, failure, baby snatchers, bugs, bullies, men, sleepovers and/or the perils of a non-organic grape.
So we don't have to parent as if they are.
We are sold on phones as a way to watch our kids from afar, granting us "peace of mind."
But peace of mind comes from trust, not surveillance.
And phones are trust-blockers.

How phones are making PARENTS into "The Anxious Generation."
The ability to be in constant contact means we don't develop the trust muscle.
And trust is the opposite of anxiety.

Instagram-famous fam welcomes new baby. He is red-faced in a photo. Strangers see this, call CPS to say the parents are abusing the baby (which they "diagnose" from the pic). CPS threatens nationwide manhunt if fam doesn't turn itself in by 6 pm!
