Some things just hurt to watch subconsciously and the feeling you get is numbness.

I'm not, I did have a Reddit account years ago though, but I deleted it. I just came here because a friend told me about this new federated type platform where you only need one account and I thought it seemed cool so here I am.

It's something the admins do, check sh.itjust.works/instances for a list of the ones they've blocked already.

Honestly they post some extremely controversial, potentially illegal stuff on there so it probably isn't a great idea to federate with them. Also that type of content tends to scare away users so it just kind of makes sense.
