Does anyone have experience with DIY T-coil setups? Do they even exist?

I'm thinking it would help those at the marine rescue base who had hearing aids to make radio ops more accessible.

My loving partner uses alarms on her phone where a countdown timer would be far more appropriate. Absolutely refuses to use the timer function - constantly asking the voice assistant to set an alarm for thirty minutes.

Yesterday she complained she couldn't set an alarm because the phone had reached the maximum limit of however many hundreds of alarms.

This drives the engineer in me nuts. Eye-twitching nuts.

Finishing up a shift at midday at Marine Rescue where nothing much happened other than a few log-ons going overdue and needing chasing.

Next shift's watchkeeper and a relatively new number 2 operator comes in, Watchkeeper says "been a quiet day so far"?

Me: "Are you alright? You are asking for it, speaking the Q-word"

Number 2: "It can't be busier than my last shift, that was the busiest I've had yet".

Me: "That's it, I'm out of here before Murphy makes something happen."

....

Last I've checked they've had three rescues including a sinking, and I just received a notification the lifeboat is on its way to a fourth rescue.

Never mention the Q-word, never tempt Murphy.

@aurynn @LeeRyman maybe part of the problem is people now go to uni to study computer science, which however is not programming, and that people who "only" have finished a vocational school programme (but learnt programming) are seen as lesser
