I've had a vicarious experience of what it is like to be a rich European today: two Swiss guys arrived and rented the apartment next door to do the interntational event, the annual Cape Town Cyling Race. They bought 2 bikes, each worth ca R30k, tonight they are leaving but the one guy just bought the apartment as well, he joked when he said " I bought the apartment so I could have the place to leave the bikes somewhere...omg.
Love it, oil prices soaring like birds into the polluted skies. Soon you won't be able to afford to drive. Can't wait. Who ll survive...

Ahhhhh Cortina, was there in 2018 skiing on artificial snow as there was no real snow that winter! Stayed at a small hotel, lovely coffee. Lots of Russians around, doing the touristy thing, hated by the locals. Nice ski infrastructure though..

I was glad the internet was off and the place was silent, but today ( with innernet back on) i tried to 'be normal' for a change and turned on the big black screen thing on the wall with YouTube available. I tried to find something 'watchable' and found this: Watching reruns of Friends was bad enough I thought, but this? A comentator with earphones on, comments on selected scenes from Friends as they flash across the smaller (split)screen on the right.
