I was glad the internet was off and the place was silent, but today ( with innernet back on) i tried to 'be normal' for a change and turned on the big black screen thing on the wall with YouTube available. I tried to find something 'watchable' and found this: Watching reruns of Friends was bad enough I thought, but this? A comentator with earphones on, comments on selected scenes from Friends as they flash across the smaller (split)screen on the right.
😱 fuking hell it's 2026, 1984 seems to have been a rehearsal for the current brand fascism
Merry Xmas everyone haha! New year is surely creeping up on us all...

This am, I tried to cross the fabled canal that connects two of the local lakes, but again I failed in my attempt, this time, not because of the leaches in the water but because I miscalculated the depth of the narrow canal and fell overboard (!!) while trying to get out and drag the canoe through a particularly overgrown part.
I'm such an idiot 🫢! I was so inspired by the knife-weeding method I learned in south Italy this summer, that when I got home, I grabbed a couple of knives at random to 'sacrifice' them as my new weeding implements. Now, on closer inspection, I see that one of them is a silver-plated vintage cutlery item, that is worth around 10 US dollars on e-bay. And...to make it even more ironic, it was manufactured by an Italian company !
I reconditioned an old bike yesterday (instead of taking it to dump), this am decided to fit a box onto the back. It wasn't straightened, unfortunately, took a long time and swearing (incl. 'merde') but I learnt how to use an u-bolt, how to drill holes in plastic, how to handle horrible inflexible wire ((with pliers), even discovered a 'fun fact' - that you can draw a circle using one 'leg' of the u-bolt, so it was a positive experience overall.

One of the items I found in the storage space under the couch. Quite interesting how intricate the design is!! I have no idea what company made it, but it looks like it was probably made some time ago. I don't use plastic forks, but from what I know, these items are manufactured without much detail nowadays. I am quite certain though that this fork pre-dates the onset of 3D printing. But it looks so perfectly made, even if it's only a plastic fork!

Any ideas perhaps?
