"Death is the end of all"

I almost missed this not-at-all cheery inscription on a badly worn and toppled stone in Libberton & Quothquan Kirkyard, South Lanarkshire.

Congratulations to @holland_tom on this, told from the perspective of Gorgo, princess of Sparta, with the most stunning illustrations and MAPS too 😍
(it's now joining my childhood Ancient Greek favourites!)

Also on my walk, aside from the pot sherd lying brazen as you like in the grass (photo for proof), were fuzzy baby beech leaves, and long-awaited ramsons & bluebells in flower

(Obviously I'm hoping it's VERY OLD rather than some sort of 70s nostalgia piece 😅)

Sadly, the site is now destroyed, as a result of recent quarrying and development activity - like many other potential sites along the Petite CĂ´te, but the region has clear potential to substantially advance our understanding of the West African Stone Age 4/5
