Holocaust historian at NIOD Amsterdam | Coordinator MA Holocaust and Genocide Studies at University of Amsterdam | New book on “Jewish Councils” in W-Europe under Nazi Occupation @CambridgeUP
Today we celebrated another wonderful group of students that graduated from our MA Holocaust and Genocide Studies (NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies / University of Amsterdam) Some started their PhDs, others work for governments and NGOs. Proud to have them as alumni 👩🏽‍🎓
Guess the climb was worth it - what a view of Montréal. Reality is even better. Flying ✈️ back home today after a fantastic conference #LessonsandLegacies. Was great to meet old friends and make new ones. Thanks Jennifer Evans, Jan Grabowski and others for organising 🙏🏼
Our former student (and current PhD candidate!) Lucy Gaynor wrote a short blog on two events we organised at @NIODamsterdam last month. These were part of a series of extracurricular activities for the MA Holocaust and Genocide Studies 👉🏼 https://www.niod.nl/en/blog/was-holocaust-unique-event-and-other-questions-lectures-bob-moore-and-dan-michman?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=blog-gaynor
'Was the Holocaust a unique event?' and other questions: lectures by Bob Moore and Dan Michman | NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies

In October, historians Bob Moore and Dan Michman each delivered lectures at NIOD. Lucy Gaynor discusses the lectures of these Holocaust scholars. Read her blog here.

My two latest publications together at the #LessonsandLegacies conference in Ottawa 🇨🇦Grateful to have had 4 inspiring seminar sessions on “Jewish Councils” and for so many great talks. Now off to the last panel on county-level approaches to the #Holocaust in Poland 🇵🇱
Session 1 of our seminar on “Jewish Councils” at #LessonsandLegacies is done. We talked about transnational exchanges between Councils, “knowledge” of “the East” and so much more🙏🏼 On to the next session! @jan_lanicek @AndreaLoew1 @HEF_NU
On my way to 🇨🇦 for the bi-annual #lessonsandlegacies conference @HEF_NU. I will host seminars on #Jewish Councils in Nazi-occupied Europe, the Soviet Union and North-Africa. The papers are very promising. Can’t wait to start the discussion.
Het lukt me op een of andere manier niet om afbeeldingen via de paperclip te uploaden. Iemand een tip?
