Common wordsmith/editor/ghostwriter, helping smart people look better in print and bring good books to life. Grateful to be camped on unceded Musqueam territory (a.k.a. Vancouver Canada). Pro: choice, compassion, climate mobilization/justice, science, BLM, LGBTQ+, labour, democracy, reconciliation, animals (let 'em be), and Oxford commas. Excited about what Elmo-free media can be.

Lesley Wolf Vindicated by Alexander Smirnov Indictment - emptywheel

You know who is vindicated by the Alexander Smirnov indictment? Lesley Wolf, who made an effort to prevent Trump's efforts to interfere in the investigation from tainting the investigation into Hunter Biden and then faced death threats because she did so.

A more interesting #nepobaby discussion would be whether those who benefit from family influence still think they live in a meritocracy—and how they define meritocracy. Is it a meritocracy if you have a powerful built-in advantage over others?

@chriszanf @Randomjeweler @alexwinter To paraphrase someone else, if your friends and you are all at a bar, and the bartender lets one Nazi in. And then he brings his friend. And he brings his friend. And so on. At some point, you and your friends are now in a Nazi bar. And your group needs to collectively leave. Unless the new patrons are a group you care to support for some unfathomable reason.
@justiceLICSW I try to remember that, while passionate, I'm definitely not as committed as some people I know. And yet I still manage to use politics to avoid interpersonal things at times. The small stuff can be important too.
I feel kind of alone when it comes to my #passion about the state of the world, (#politics #climate) compared to most close others, who seem to have a more dispassionate lens on things. I can't do #smalltalk. Can you? #helpMasto
@rbreich Anyone still at the Bird can help it down the drain by blocking every ad/advertiser in their streams. It's the little things....

Compared to the alternatives, walking, & cycling networks provide the lowest emissions + most affordable, cost-efficient accessible modes of transport. However, active mobility is often dismissed as a small player in discussions on climate change and equity.

Time to change this

If you’re White, you can walk around with assault rifles in full combat gear looking like you‘re on active duty. And police will just shrug while the media deem you a protester rather than a terrorist.

This is why White Supremacists and sympathizers are so afraid of 2050 when White people will be in the minority for the first time in US history. It’s good to be in the majority.

@Larissa @Deglassco Apparently if you keep the receipts for purchasing people to exploit as you please, genocide is no big deal.
