Apparently there is now a genuine "Mastodon For Dummies" book:

It's a real physical book, it's in bookshops and libraries! Depending on where you live, it's out now or out this week.

I haven't read it (yet) but the index seems promising and it even mentions non-Mastodon Fediverse platforms including lesser known ones like @inventaire

(Thanks to @technomancy for highlighting this release!)

My wife and I went to Barnes and Noble in Brookfield, Wisconsin yesterday to get pictures of "Mastodon for Dummies." The staff person who helped us find the shelf had me sign the book. Afterwards she said she'd add an "Author signed" sticker to the cover. That was fun!
BTW, we are still looking for reviewers to read and comment on the book. DM me with your mailing address if you're interested. #MastodonForDummies

@Sonikku @BlackAzizAnansi @sparkly Never forget that Hitler rose to power after forming the largest political party in the Reichstag, which resulted in the end of democracy in Germany in 1932— in other words, he subverted democracy through the electoral process.

Meet the woman behind early @NASA_Landsat images: Dr. Valerie L. Thomas.

A self-taught programmer, she managed the development of Landsat image processing. Her work in the '70s helped show that satellite imagery could be used to support agriculture. https://go.nasa.gov/3EJMPgT #BHM

I started Second Chance Bikes in 2017. I had been repairing bikes donated to two charities at which I volunteered, needed funding to keep it up or expand. So I picked a name launched a website, and announced it on the bird site, which brought both in-kind and cash donations, and on Nextdoor, which brought donations of bikes. I've supplied about 400 refurbished bikes to unsheltered people and low income housed folks, mostly refugees, both adult and child. See Secondchancebikes.org. for more.
(2) Mine are stored in my daughters garage and I can't find my photos, but here is a link to a good set of photos of one:
