I live in hope that #Shiny for #R is named for Kaylee Frye’s saying.

The Local feed is fine if you're on a smaller instance. It's actually incredibly useful if you're on a topic-focused server!
GM is like "We can tolerate the racism and homophobia, but we will draw the line at Twitter's owner being the CEO of our competitor."

I'm having media upload issues in Fedilab on Android, too. I kind of assumed it was a traffic/resource issue.
Cascade Mountain seen from the shores of the Bow River, #Canmore, #Alberta. The Cascade Mountain sits just north of the town of #Banff, about 25 km north west of where I stood.

The summit of Cascade stands almost exactly 3 km above sea level, and over 900 m above Banff. It's the tallest mountain next to the town.

I’ve been here a while, but thought I’d do another #introductionpost for the new folks. Welcome!

I’m preparing to pursue a #DataScience MS degree remotely from CU Boulder, because my brain finally works sort of normally now that I’m on meds for ADHD. I’m also autistic, and have really strong sensory sensitivity. I post about #ADHD and #autism in women and girls.

I also play #bagpipes with @PiperPilotPaul and we have a #greyhound so I post about #Music and #mastodogs

@chespace Yes! That is when you realise that actually, it was the algorithm optimising for polarisation that was the problem all along! Here, the reach of a message is decided by humans. A message spreads organically. Which means, carefully crafting a message will probably pay off if you want people to read what you have to say :)

@graue
This is the key understanding, I think. People talk about quote-tweeting as being passive aggressive or enabling toxic behaviours, or whatever, but at its core what it does is turn you into someone who is talking to a perceived audience of third parties, and not the person who said the thing you're commenting on.

One is broadcasting, the other is discussion.
