David AllanRainton Meadows Country Park at Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland in North East England. Winter may officially be three weeks away, but it's feeling like autumn has already left the building.
This stretch of water, 'Joe's Pond', was named after a local man, Joe Wilson, who championed the pond becoming a nature reserve after it's life as a clay pit ended.
It is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

WillI read the WaPo OpEd by Larry Summers and Bono so you don’t have to. Three ideas, loan guarantees for developing nations, restructure African national debts to be less crippling, disburse seized Russian assets to Ukraine. None bad ideas, but I could barely stomach clicking on a link attributed to those two.
