Want to test NVDA 2023.1 beta and have addons that NVDA reports as incompatible? It's always best to wait for the developer of said addons to update and test their addons. However, if you'd like, follow these steps:
Click start, open the NVDA folder, and select explore NVDA user config ...
open addons, and in each addon folder, edit manifest.ini.
Find a line that says lastTestedNVDAVersion= ...
Remove the old text i.e. 2.22.1 and replace with 2.23.1 and you'll be cookin with gas.
anyone know what the gesture to make voice over go in to to make the keyboard visible? I would always half to use a bluetooth keyboard to stop make the keyboard not be not hidden so to speak.
ok, twitter doesn't work
Window Bridge 2000 seems to have a DECtalk version crisis. The install messages sound like they were created with 4.41, Window Bridge itself uses 4.51, and the demo timeout message sounds like it was created with a version of 4.60. Also, window bridge seems to use memory buffering and a callback instead of the stock DECtalk audio driver. This explains why it's DECtalk software driver is so responsive when compared to JAWS and Window Eyes.
It’s great to see more of the blindness Internet radio stations appearing here. When we set up the Mushroom Fm instance in November, in my blog post announcing it, I expressed the hope that exactly this would happen. I would like to offer some free advice about stations using Mastodon effectively. You can ignore it if you want and it’s worth what you paid for it.
Hashtags were a courtesy on Twitter, but here they are even more powerful. I’d strongly encourage each Internet radio station to use a hashtag relating to their station, and use it consistently. Users can actually follow hashtags on Mastodon, so they appear in a user’s timeline. If broadcasters and users alike use the same hashtag and follow it, it can increase interaction and make it easy.
But the other reason to use a hashtag consistently is that it can be filtered. Some people may like you personally and want to follow you, but they may have no interest in the radio stuff. The hashtag gives users the freedom to opt out through a filter.
Some people think a content warning serves this purpose, but it doesn’t. People can’t generally filter based on the specific text of a content warning.
In short, pick a hashtag and embrace it. Your listeners and those who don’t want to be your listeners will love you for it.
And it’s good to have you here.
