Happy Deductible and Out Of Pocket Max Resetting Day to all my disabled and chronically ill friends.
I’m spending the day figuring out which of my medications that cost thousands of $$$$ a month I can skip until I “only” have to pay 20%. 😭
I was already struggling with a mental health crisis brought on by a relentless year of multiple health and personal traumas before I faced losing my sweet doggo.
This year I had critical neurosurgery delayed by hospital overcrowding and as a result I permanently lost my mobility by the time I got it.I lost my home and had to move hundreds of miles away from my granddaughter.I lost my trusted care team due to the move.I lost the meager financial gains we accomplished leading up to this year. >
< I have developed complications in my recovery from the delayed neurosurgery which threaten all the benefits gained by it. My father died and because we were estranged all hope of reconciliation died with him. I had dental trauma and needed emergency care. I lost legal access to my primary method of pain relief. I lost all sense purpose or value.
And now I am losing the thing that was intended to help hold me together while I try to heal from all of this.
I’m broken. Utterly destroyed.
But if you're feeling that way, feeling any of this. And awkward as the holidays approach?
You aren't alone. And it sucks now. But it might suck less tomorrow.
I'm gonna have an edible and hang out in a group watch room. Maybe look for my VR headset if I have the energy.
