@gabor_samu Oh, they got description with typo inside! "Intel 8026", never heard of that. :-)
@dabeaz do not have AI steal the joy of pure simple creativity. Way to go!
@aka_pugs One big bold move. Unfortunately for Sun too little too late. Fortunately for open-source community since at least ZFS is kicking the tires and DTrace at least in FreeBSD too...
Don't use Solaris anymore so can't judge on how their spinoffs are doing....
@hrw Congrats! So you have chosen your next ARM board already! Seeing your HW list also motivated me to see my preferred components makers and indeed, both Noctua and Seasonic were up to the task which is great to see. Please keep mastodon posted about your findings of interesting details of the platform! Thanks!
@mntmn what distro and what gdm version? The inet is full of help on this topic so I guess something should work. If you like to have your own distro (branding?) you may as well hack the code.

@hrw Oh, now I see it's more of mixed v8/v9 thing than clean v9: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_M4
Apple M4 - Wikipedia

@hrw I've digged deeper and what's wrong with Apple's M4? Yeah, besides MacOS of course. But with virtualization you may run Linux kernel and be on v9 CPU, don't you?
@hrw Oh, I see. Unfortunately in this talkative age full of promises in the cloud, I'm afraid the only sensible/cheap ARM will be indeed in the cloud.
I'm sure you already know about gcc compile farm project? But, well, the most newest arm there is altra max. (neoverse N1). https://portal.cfarm.net/machines/list/ -- that's considering you are in open-source development so you do have access to those anyway...

@hrw Seeing your complains about C6, let me ask, what's wrong with good old HoneyComb LX2? Or with board with Ampere Altra CPU? They should be high-quality products don't they?
