Husband, Father, DevOps Engineer. The 'K' in KDL. If the Operating System had ‘OS’ in the name, I rode that dead horse. Randomly contributes to open source projects.

Has used core RAM and acoustic couplers.

Personally never ran Windows.

Has never run Arch, BTW.

@FriendlyEMP It's a very large field. Do you know which section of Linux admin you'd like to go into?

Whichever role/path you choose, you're going to want a solid Bash and basic Linux CLI tools base to work from, as those are applicable across all distros and really don't change when you remote into systems.

I also do recommend this for anyone, as CyberSec hits all parts of the field.

Thinking of making a career change. Been tinkering with #linux since high school, thinking it'd be a great basis for a new career. Any advice on where to start? No certs or college education, based in the US.
@nazokiyoubinbou I keep them on a NAS and just map those directories over to share them between systems. A different drive also works. Makes migrating easy.
@nazokiyoubinbou they are in ~/.local/share/flatpak and /var/lib/flatpak. The libraries and runtimes are also in these folders, and the apps do not need to be installed in each OS, just the once. I install a flatpak in Fedora, it also appears in my Debian desktop, no need to reinstall it there. Been doing it like this for years without issue. So if you back it up there, you should be fine.

Scientists developed the first climate models in the late 1960s (for which the Nobel Prize in physics was recently awarded!).

How have these models held up against what happened in the real world after they were published? Surprisingly well, it turns out:

34 years ago. Through some miraculous chain of events, Lithuania broke out of USSR with only this, instead of full-on military intervention. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_Events

@nazokiyoubinbou @mcc just backup the 2 flatpak folders on your machine and you should be fine. There's one for user and one for system-level (all users). You can copy/share them between systems and they work fine. I share mine between Debian/Fedora/elementaryOS without issue.
@mcc it's not that things are "fixed" in Debian...it's just that Ubuntu hasn't broken it here 😉
