@PrincessLydia Kaline stares at her wife with wide eyes after that revelation, and her lips tremble as she tries to come up with words to express what she's feeling right now.

"You did that... all for me?

Lydia, I'll never forget this. If you ever get in danger, I'll owe you a sacrifice of my own..." The blonde says while choking back tears.

@PrincessLydia "I'm listening, love."

@PrincessLydia The Countess' condition has improved at a breakneck pace over the last few weeks. She is almost entirely lucid and able to speak short sentences, but has been advised to not leave the palace, as her motor coordination is still lacking, and is always accompanied by nurses.

"I'm better than before, Lydia."

@PrincessLydia Kaline's eyes try to open, but they stay half-lidded at best. She squeezes Lydia's hand slightly harder.

"Love... you..."

@PrincessLydia No longer lying on her back, the Duchess' wife is able to turn herself on her sides. She tries to smile upon feeling Lydia's hand on her own, but that's still a tough task.

The aide tells Lydia to come closer, and the blonde whispers out.

"Lydia..." she struggles to enunciate, having to do so very slowly.

@PrincessLydia is summoned by an aide to Kaline's quarters, and the news couldn’t be better; the Countess is regaining consciousness, responding to stimuli and being able to hear and speak individual words.

Still a way to go until her full recovery, but that brain is, miraculously, redeveloping from its previous atrophied state.

@PrincessLydia The Countess brushes her thumb on Lydia's palm, and she gathers the strength to vocalize something that vaguely sounds like "Lydia".
@VivianVerrick @PrincessLydia Kaline is barely conscious, still in the early stages of her recovery. Still unable to move her head or eyes, the faint sound of Lydia's voice makes the Countess hover her own hand out to hold her wife's.

@PrincessLydia Kaline cannot even look at her wife through the pain, and her eyes stay shut as her hoarse voice scratches through Lydia's ears.

"Tell her to speed up.

I love you a lot, Lydia. I'll never forget that."

@PrincessLydia Kaline can hardly see and is unable to leave her bed, and she has almost lost her voice. Her implants leave her exterior almost untouched, but her head has started to atrophy.

While hanging to the wrist of a nurse, the caretaker leans over to tell the Countess that the Duchess is here. After an 'okay', the nurse gestures at Lydia to come over.

"Make sure to speak clearly and near her, your Highness. The Countess can hardly hear us from a distance."
