Nyankh-khnum and Khnum-hotep (gouache on papyrus)

Today’s LGBTQ+ heroes are Nyankh-khnum and Khnum-hotep (5th Dynasty, c.2494–2345 BCE). They are believed to be one of the earliest known same-sex couples. Nose-to-nose denotes kissing in Ancient Egyptian art. They were buried together by their families.

Some appear to be real people, some are fake accounts with stolen identities.

Either way, this is stalking and harassing behaviour, and we have zero tolerance for it.

#OnThisDay, 28 Nov 1967, PhD student Jocelyn Bell Burnell discovers the existence of pulsars.

Not included in the 1974 Nobel prize for the discovery, Bell received a £3m prize for her work in 2018. She's using it to set up a foundation to improve diversity in STEM.
