I'm a Ham operator based out of Spokane, Washington, USA.
I'm into Data Communications of all kinds.

I'm also really big into Linux and I have been running it for 20 years.

In my professional life I'm a ST for Motorola Solutions, working in the Western USA.

Ok, I'm done with the whiplash of all the BS going on.
So to make up for all the #TikTok stuff I posted, here are some lovely screenshots from #EliteDangerousOdyssey I took.
So I have a bit of a strange #RF signal that I have found today while Poking around with my #sdr I found this signal on 36.127MHZ, It sounds like and looks like WEFAX of some kind. But it decodes into a strange pattern.
From what I can see on the FCC database there is no one licensed for that frequency in the US.(Some nearby frequencies for Public Safety with FM.)
I don't think it's a satellite because there is no Doppler shift.
So I'm not sure what this is, #hamradio folks, any Ideas?
For my #xmas #hamradio weekend project I'm bringing this #hallicrafters SR-150 from 1963 back to life.
I picked this up in trade for some tower work a few years ago and it's been sitting in storage. So I figured it would be a good time to get it tested and setup in the ham shack.
Update on the Nooelec SmartSDR V5 on #hf
So I found that to use it below 25MHz you need to set it to Directly sample the Q bits. You can do that when you select your SDR when CubicSDR starts up. For anything above 25Mhz you just select off.
Second I found that if you are listing to a frequency too close to the edges of the waterfall display on CubicSDR it will cause a pulsing in the Amplitude of the signal. It's very noticeable with strong signals. #hamradio #SDR
It's been a busy week for me at work, and I can't share any of it. 😑
So here is a picture of my cat for #catuerday. She is cataloguing the shop documentation.
The reason for all our HF fun.
