Our big splurge in Japan was staying in traditional Japanese inn called a ryokan with a hot spring onsen overlooking Lake Biwa. Everything about the experience was luxury...and a bit intimidating trying to observe all the proper protocols! Our 12-course kaiseki dinner included so much food. Today @KevinHoctor and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary! We have worked hard to put together and share with you our top 11 temples and shrines in Kyoto.
