Our big splurge in Japan was staying in traditional Japanese inn called a ryokan with a hot spring onsen overlooking Lake Biwa. Everything about the experience was luxury...and a bit intimidating trying to observe all the proper protocols! Our 12-course kaiseki dinner included so much food. Today @KevinHoctor and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary! We have worked hard to put together and share with you our top 11 temples and shrines in Kyoto. Thanks to our daughter, we extended our visit and it gave nature a chance to put on its best autumn show. We hope you enjoy experiencing these places as much as we did.
