(he/him) student in physical #oceanography in northern germany and mainly here for finding interesting research related content. Second interest is just general #opensource stuff & programming and third is politics.
For the research part I'm mostly a fan of #hydrothermalvents , #oceans , #climate , the #arctic , #antarctic , #glaciers , #seaice but also #ships and more.

First real #sundawn here at #longyearbyen , #svalbard since 3 weeks. Although the sun does not come over the horizon yet, it beautifully reflects on the surroundings. On the sky you can see Jupiter and Mars as two small lights.
Today we had the first time good enough weather for a small #hike up to a close mountain. We had a really nice view down to #longyearbyen, which is especially helpfull for getting a feeling of distances and spaces around here. Otherwise this is really hard, when you experience it all in the dark only, due to #PolarNight
My first weekend of my erasmus semester at #Svalbard is deeply covered in snow. That's somehow sad, because we are advised to stay in town and not go on hiking trips etc bevause of high avalanche risk. But on the other hand I never experienced such a amount of snow and it's quite memorable. And by coincidence we also did our avalanche safety training today, which is fitting atleast^^

My podcast year 2024. #AntennaPodEcho

Nothing special, but I like how #opensource apps like @AntennaPod keep up with the big ones. Thank you very much!
