Happy #SaintPatricksDay! the Green spot is a previously unreported supernova in a distant galaxy in Tucana. 1 of 4 previously unreported Supernovae I discovered in 2024 using Legacy Survey; Sky Viewer. You can select any object on the zoomable map to look up #stars and #galaxies in Simbad or join the discussion forum, where I reported the #Supernova. these two images were taken at different times. See this Supernova and its stellar neighbors at the link https://www.legacysurvey.org//viewer/?ra=335.8157&dec=-65.2335&layer=ls-dr9&zoom=16&const

Oil Painting of #star going Nova. 3'x5'. I painted this several years ago as a wedding gift for my friend & Son of my 7th & 8th grade #Art Instructor who was getting married on the 4th of July. took my every waking moment I wasnt at my day job for a month to complete. I listened to Puscifer Conditions of My Parole non stop for that month w/a lil Tool, Perfect Circle. on the way to to my hometown for the wedding, radio played a Maynard J. Keenan marathon. I didnt know, they met #SaintPatricksDay
Happy Saint Patricks Day! This image and link is to a distant galaxy and green Supernova. previously unreported until I found it last July in Telescopium constellation using public data via Legacy Survey of the night sky and ingoing mapping. you can select any object on the zoomable map and look it up in Simbad, single exposures or discuss object on the LS Forum. #SaintPatricksDay #Stars #Green #space #astronomy #legacysurvey #supernova #leprechaun #fourleafclover #galaxy

I found this image of Mars while reading up on Olympus Mons. I see these huge volcanoes and I think we had better take care of the #Earth because We would be better off building an additional Moon to orbit Earths Moon in the Goldilocks Zone than building a civilization near these monsters in the freezing cold. taking bets on whether those are asleep or dead #volcanoes. not pictured is Alba Mons which isnt as tall, but is much wider that #Olympusmons these volcanoes are as big as US states. #Mars

This incredible image shows a dance of sorts. 4 galaxies whirling around another, NGC 2622 being the largest. the interaction is casting stars every which way and trading stars. while other more distant galaxies and stars in the Milky Way fill in around the frame. NGC 2622 also has a supernova. posted by William Snell in the LS discussion forum. you can zoom in or out on Legacy Survey map of the nightsky at this link; https://www.legacysurvey.org//viewer/?ra=129.5460&dec=24.8956&layer=ls-dr9&zoom=14&const

Galaxy NGC4535 has no name despite incredible beauty & symmetry. There must be life in it. I have no doubt they gave it a name. It is our night sky once hidden from us. Now w/ the help of ground based #telescopes and public data supported by NERSC Supercomputer and good People at #LegacySurvey, NERSC & global databases like #Simbad we can zoom around the map of outerspace and learn. Oil Painting 2'x3' on canvas. inspired by the theory of panspermia and the start of life being given a start from comets. #oilpainting #stars #Art #FineArt #Outerspace #space #comets
Galaxy M100 in Coma Berenices constellation. M100 is one of my favorite places in the Universe. it has several satellite galaxies. click the link below to see M100 and its many galactic neighbors on the zoomable map of outer space by the Legacy Survey of the night sky. #stars #galaxy #space #outerspace #legacysurvey #staratlas #M100 #astronomy #Simbad

Star Cluster M79 is 41,000 light years away in Lepus constellation it contains 150,000 stars in an area only 118 light years across. contains some of the oldest stars in our galaxy up to 11.7 billion years old. see them all on the zoomable map of the night sky at the link below. Legacy Survey made possible by public data from ground based telescopes and NERSC Supercomputers and an ongoing effort by good people working there. #stars #starcluster #outerspace #space #Legacy
